Pre-Firsters began the year with a technology and art integrated unit, focusing on collaboration and creativity. During each technology or art class, the girls worked in pairs with one as the student and the other as the teacher. The teacher group learned and practiced new skills with me while the student group worked in a previously learned app. Once the teacher group could successfully complete the task, they had to teach their students. At the end of the class, if both teacher and student completed the task, they earned a badge. Badges included items like popsicle sticks, nails, screws, wire, and more. The last badge that the girls earned was a hammer. The badges will be used during Art to create a kinetic sculpture with tools.
